As I'm sure you know, Florida Republican Lavern Spicer recently made this tweet:
And apart from the hilarity of it, I thought: Why don't I delete all the pronouns from the Bible and see what i come up with?
I used the Douay-Rheims translation from the Latin Vulgate written by Saint Jerome, so there were extra books to work with (Book of Tobias, Book of Maccabees, etc.,). It uses thee and thine, etc., like the KJV, so I had to account for those as well. Here's the final tally:
I: 9,128
My: 5,189
Me: 4,289
Mine: 62
You: 5,733
Your: 1,716
Yours: 17
Ye: 854
Thee: 3,950
Thy: 6,039
Thine: 50
Thou: 6,107
He: 12,927
Him: 7,728
His: 9,317
She: 1,196
Her: 2,218
Hers: 3
They: 8,549
Them: 7,188
Their: 4,555
Theirs: 15
It: 5,785
Its: 290
We: 2,137
Our: 1,452
Ours: 12
Us: 1,702
Myself: 137
Yourself: 0
Himself: 619
Herself: 69
Themselves: 389
Ourselves: 54
Yourselves: 142
Itself: 85
Thyself: 208
For a total of 109,911 pronouns.
Something I found kind of interesting: He/him/his/himself shows up 30,591 times; she/her/hers/herself shows up 3,486 times, with "hers", specifically, only showing up 3 times, versus 9,317 times for "his". Now, she/her/hers combined with all the other pronouns beat out he/him/his by 48,729, but you are free to make of that what you will.
I have included the Bible sans pronouns here for your perusal:
